They may not wear spandex, but don’t let that fool you. Colonel Sanders and Ronald McDonald are as evil as they come.

I’ve always been quite vocal about my hatred of fast food places, partly because of their treatment of animals, but mainly because their products are almost entirely devoid of nutrients. That’s fine if you’re the sort of person who mainly indulges in a Big Mac or a bucket of chicken tenders after a night out, or once in a blue moon, but less so if you’re a ‘parent’ who feeds their kids there multiple times a week.

I think fast food represents two of the seven deadly sins, Sloth and Gluttony. One ’cause you’re too lazy to cook something decent, the other ’cause the ‘food’ is rarely filling so you’ve to eat a bucket-load to feel satisfied (or sick, in my case)

A Long Time Coming

I’ve been meaning to draw Lisbeth Salander since I started reading the first book in this trilogy back in ’09 (during my Air Canada debacle funnily enough) but nothing I’ve done has sat right with me. After watching Fincher’s movie adaptation though I was inspired to get my pencil out and this happened. It’s not meant to be the leads from either movie version specifically, more of an amalgamation of the two. Personally I prefer Noomi Rapace over Rooney Mara, but she could be edging it due to simple chronology.

I was going to redraw this digitally and colour it but I kinda like the line-art as is so I just scanned it properly and messed about with some textures. Given the section of the video that it was inspired by I stuck to metals and various layer options. I think the only other version I’d like to try would be a proper digital painting but I’m going to wait ’till I’ve taken a class before attempting that
